Ecohub Cabin Bag 40 x 20 x 25 cm Review

Today, we are going to have a look at the Ecohub Cabin Bag 40 x 20 x 25 cm. 

This bag has the perfect size for travelers with Ryanair, as the dimensions 40 x 20 x 25 cm do exactly reflect Ryanair’s maximum allowance for small pieces of hand luggage in the standard tariff. 

But more about that later on.

Let’s start with the review. 

Ecohub Cabin Bag 40 x 20 x 25 cm: Material

This bag from Ecohub is made out of recyclable EVA material. As the name Ecohub suggests, this bag is extremely eco-friendly. 

This is also the case with the awesome Ecohub backpack 40 x 20 x 25, that we already tested earlier on here on carry-on-baggage.com.

I am very impressed with the material of this bag. In this price range, most bags on the market are of very poor quality and usually feature just very thin nylon/polyester material. 

This bag, however, features sturdy material and it really shows. Also, when you open up the bag, you will see awesome padding which is something that a lot of cheaper bags don’t have at all.

It is not a coincidence that Ecohub chose 40 x 20 x 25 cm as the dimensions of their bag.

In fact, 40 x 20 x 25 cm is the perfect size for hand luggage when flying with Ryanair in the standard tariff, as their maximum allowance for hand luggage, as far the dimensions go, exactly amounts to 40 x 20 x 25 cm. 

There are actually not that many good bags out there that come with these exact dimensions. And you can trust me on this, when flying with Ryanair, you will definitely want to make sure that you don’t go over the maximum allowed dimensions. 

Even just a few centimeter could cost you a fortune, as they are very strict when it comes to hand luggage dimensions.

With that said, making sure from the start to have a backpack that respects these dimensions is absolutely crucial. 

 

Ecohub Cabin Bag 40 x 20 x 25 cm: Outer Compartments

The Ecohub Cabin Bag 40 x 20 x 25 does feature two outer compartments. One on the front side and one on the backside. Both have zippers. 

These compartments are great for valuables and probably some travel documents. However, these pockets are rather small, so you will need to check whether your documents fit in there or not. A passport would certainly fit in, for instance.

When you open up the Ecohub Cabin Bag, the first thing you will see is the very nice padding. All sides of the bag are padded, including the laptop compartment. 

Yes, the laptop compartment. This bag comes with a laptop compartment that fits laptops up to 13″.

On the opposite side, there are two more small pockets. These pockets do not come with zippers. 

And, obviously, what you see in the middle is the main compartment. It’s padded all around but apart from that does not have any special features but that is also not expected.

The zippers are of good quality and I did not experience any issues with it. 

However, if these zippers will stand the test of time, that is another question. I will make sure to give some feedback about that as well in a couple of weeks. But so far, so good. 

Ecohub Cabin Bag 40 x 20 x 25 cm: Special Features

The Ecohub Cabin Bag comes with a special dust bag for shoes. This is pretty cool, I must say. 

On top of that, you also get shoulder straps that come with the bag, in case you would like to carry the Ecohub Bag as a shoulder bag. 

I am not a big fan of shoulder bags, so it’s definitely not something I will take into consideration.

But then again, everyone’s different and I am sure some people will appreciate this. 

 

Ecohub Cabin Bag 40 x 20 x 25 cm: Verdict

I reviewed and tested lots of cabin bags. And let me tell you this. In this price range, you can barely find any bag that is better than this one. Most bags in this range have very little to no padding at all.

Then, when not packed, most of these bags simply “collapse” in itself and really can’t keep up their composure. 

This is different with the Ecohub Cabin Bag. This bag looks solid and stands tall, even when unpacked. 

Then, I am a big fan of the padding within the bag itself. The color (inside) is really pretty to look at as well.

The padding and the creamy vanilla-kind of color resemble the interior of a camera bag. Which certainly is not a bad thing, right?

Anyway, to conclude, I must say that this bag is doing a great job and on top of that, it is also eco-friendly. A clear winner, if you ask me.
