Can You Bring A Concealer in Your Hand Luggage?

Concealer in Hand Luggage

Can you bring a concealer in your hand luggage?

You are indeed allowed to bring a concealer in your carry-on baggage. However, the following must be observed:

  • The concealer must be carried in the bag for liquids.
  • This liquid bag must not have a capacity of more than one litre.
  • The capacity of each container (e.g. your concealer) must not exceed 100 ml.
  • Only one such liquid bag per person is allowed.

Does it matter what kind of concealer it is?

Liquid concealers, as the name suggests, are clearly classified as liquids for air travel and therefore the liquid rule for liquids, gels and aerosols in hand luggage must be observed.

Creamy concealers suffer the same fate as liquid concealers. They must also be stored in the bag for liquids.

Our last hope: concealer sticks. Does this type of concealer also have to hide in the liquid bag? Here the case is not so clear. Regarding consistency, a concealer stick can be compared to a solid lipstick.

And solid lipsticks, just like Labello sticks, usually don’t have to be stored in the bag for liquids.

The same is also true for concealer sticks (pens).

However, since such a pen does not take up much space, I advise you to place it in the bag for liquids as well.

The capacity of concealers?

With all the cosmetic and make-up articles that you want to take with you on your next flight, you have to make sure that you don’t exaggerate with the liquid articles.

As already mentioned above, everything must fit in a liquid bag with a maximum capacity of one litre.

Therefore I would like to tell you here briefly how much capacity the standard concealers take up:

  • Liquid concealer: Usually around 7 ml
  • Concealer sticks: Usually around 3 – 7 ml
  • Concealer creams: From 10 to 50 ml everything available

All types of concealers are thus clearly below the 100 ml limit that must be observed for liquid containers in hand luggage.
